Adult Female 11 aside:

How far we have come since the first women’s football game in 1895, where the north beat the south 7-1?

We now as a county host over 60 women’s teams playing regular affiliated football.

As women having fought through 2 world wars, fighting to gain the vote, being banned from playing football in 1921, women’s football is flourishing and at a real high with the first UK super league having being introduced this year, with many teams even paying players to play. Having fought to revive women’s football and the continuous fight to sustain women’s football through media channels and at a grassroots level it is vitally important we recruit new and old players back into the glorious national game.

As a county FA we are conscious that women’s football is a continuous high priority to us and as a national focus.

We are looking for more females who want to get into football; we have so many opportunities as a county for females of all age, ability, experience, time constraints, work commitments, race and religion. We want more of you ladies back involved in football, most of you out there will remember a time in those glory days be it at a recreational, school, club or at an international level when football gave you that adrenaline and buzz, that social feeling of teamwork and dedication which made you fall in love with the game.

Help us to provide you with these feelings again by getting in touch. Get your mates together, get the glory girls back on tour and get back into football at a level to suit you.

Keep checking this website and our facebook page for new opportunities but for further information get in touch and share your memories or ideas for the future of the female game, which I have no doubt you want to be involved in.
