The purpose of the National Game Strategy 2008-2012 is to produce a strategic framework that sets out the key priorities, expenditure proposals and targets for the National Game. The Strategy was the result of extensive consultation with partners and stakeholders in the game, which was repeated moving into 2009. The National Game Strategy is now in its third year and Birmingham county FA have produced their own County Plan to underpin the activity and targets that the overall strategy contains within the Birmingham County area. The plan is broken down into key GOALS and ENABLERS:
GOAL 1: Grow the game and retain participants:
We need to increase the number of players and keep people in the game.
GOAL 2: Raise standards and address abusive behavior:
We need to create a safe and positive environment for everyone in football.
GOAL 3: Develop better players:
Specifically, we need to focus on improving the quality of the 5-
11 age group.
GOAL 4: Run the game effectively:
We need to lead and govern the game with integrity and
minimum bureaucracy.
In turn, three key enablers are required to underpin delivery of these goals; again these were identified in the consultation process:
Workforce development
Improved facilities
Marketing and PR
Birmingham County FA submit a scorecard quarterly to the Football Association. The information from all County FA’s is collated and measured against the key performance indicators identified in the National Game Strategy. Quarterly reports will be posted on our website.
