Birmingham County Football Association’s objective is to increase the Female Football workforce in the County of Birmingham, and to offer coaches the opportunity to get involved with our coaching programmes, local Charter Standard Clubs and to give them some experience and ideas before taking their level 1 coaching course.
What is Mentoring?
A relationship built through a series of one to one meeting to develop coaches:
• Technical and professional skills
• Develop further knowledge and understanding
• Improved competence in coaching
• Helpful attitudes and habits (e.g. confidence, organisation)
• Made aware of potential and coaching pathways
• Clarify about personal values and goals
Birmingham County Football Association’s Football Development Team will support and guide the coaches through the process and develop them through the coaching pathway.
Involvement:
• Female only Coaching days
• Female only Goalkeeper Coaching
• Club Coaching
• Schools County Championships
• Centre of Excellence
• Work Experience
• any many more
These sessions provide regular coaching opportunities for the coaches to gain coaching experience both before and after taking their FA Coaching Certificate, and this will allow us to show the coaches the right way to coach and provide support and guidance along the way. Eventually these coaches will help support our Girls and Women’s programme in the County.
