This is a three hour interactive workshop which takes you through best practice and Safeguarding children. Topics covered are:
Why do we need to protection children in football?
What are they key principles of best practice for Coaches, Managers, Match Officials, First Aiders, Volunteers etc
Identifying the forms of abuse and what constitutes these
Understanding the signs and indicators of abuse
Identifying behaviour in football that may cause concern
Understanding feelings in relation to concerns including abuse
Action to take if you have a concern or receive a disclosure from a child Identifying who is there for support
Welfare Officer Workshop *
This three hour workshop is for Club or League Welfare Officers and builds on top of the learning from the Safeguarding Workshop. Topics covered are:
How do you make best practice ‘live’ in the Club or League
Key points of legislation that underpins Safeguarding
Roles of the Statutory Agencies
The FA Safeguarding Network
Dealing with cases of poor practice or abuse
A certificate of attendance will be issued after the workshop.
* Please note, the pre-requisite for attending the Welfare Officer Workshop is completion of an FA Enhanced CRB disclosure and attendance at a Safeguarding Children Workshop.
