Module 1 of the innovative FA Youth Award is being held at Nechells Sports Centre, Rupert Street, Birmingham on Friday 19th, Saturday 20th, Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd September 2008.
The programme which mixes classroom and practical activities to help understand the “what” and “how” to coach young footballers aged 5-11 is on offer for just £60, with a £10 discount to Charter Standard Coaches and Birmingham County Coaches Association Members.
The course is the first to look at the child and where they are developmentally, packaging football through a number of exciting new activities in such a way that it “fits” the child, and not the other way around.
It marks a progressive change in coaching, creating a player-centred approach to the coaching and development of young players.
Whilst there is no final assessment, candidates must hold a minimum Level 1 Coaching Certificate or Qualified Teacher Status who have attended the “Age Appropriate Coaching – Introductory Module” and should attend all four days of the course.
