It was Leicestershire that started the game positively with Ryan Pearce striking an impressive shot in the first 2 minutes that just whistled straight in the hands of the keeper.
However from then on Birmingham took their foot off the break and went full force forward starting in the 12th minute when Birmingham were awarded a free kick outside the box and as a result Jake Brown hit the top of the cross bar.
With a taste of goal Brown tried his luck moments later with a long range strike that went straight into the hands of the keeper.
In the 32nd minute Brown again came inches of bringing the home team up 1-0 when he was found un marked in the penalty box but his header went just wide of the post.
Jake Brown seemed to have no luck as moments later he again found himself unmarked in the box and this time his shot went over the bar.
With the clock now minutes to half time Birmingham still maintained the majority of the possession and had another try at goal this time courtesy of Jamey Osbourne but his shot from just outside the box hit the left of the cross bar.
The second half started in the same light as the first with Leicestershire starting off strong. This time it was Ryan Rowley who set the game alight as he darted from the midfield region from the kick off to the Birmingham penalty area to see his final shot be comfortably saved by Birmingham’s keeper.
Moments later Leicestershire’s’ Joe Henton had an equally impressive opportunity in-front of goal but his shot was again saved by the keeper
However Birmingham came back into the game and it was not until the 48th minute that they finally got a goal and finally beat the strong defence of the away side. The goal came courtesy of Birmingham’s Tom Law to bring the home team up 1-0. Substitute Tom Weale nearly made it 2 nil in a matter of minutes but his shot just trickled wide.
It was Jamey Osbourne that made it 2-0 with a great goal, which seemed to look as if he was crossing the ball in but his cross went right in the back of the net that left everyone stunned.
Birmingham remained the dominant team and tried their luck again this time via Tom Law, as Tom Weale crossed the ball over to Law to get on the end of but his shot went straight to the keeper.
With 14 minutes left of the game Birmingham’s Tom Law knocked in a goal to bring them 3-0 up and 5 minutes later Law knocked in another securing a 4-0 victory for Birmingham in the FA County Youth Cup.
