FA Emergency Aid

This three hour workshop offers basic advice on how to limit the effects of injury and promote recovery. Topics covered include mouth to mouth resuscitation, control of bleeding, dressing of wounds and minimising shock. Open to all with an interest in improving their emergency aid skills. Certificates last for three years.


Course Aims & Objectives

To provide the candidate with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to enable him/her to attend a conscious or unconscious casualty, ensuring that appropriate care is given until the emergency medical services arrive and takeover, or until an alternative healthcare professional(s), assumes responsibility for the casualty.


Course Information:
  • Minimum Age: 16 
  • Course Duration: 3 hours 
  • Course Prerequisites: None 
  • Who is it for: A short course over 3 hours to train club representatives in resuscitation and life-saving skills.

Practical Involvement: 

The course contains content of a practical and functional nature, given this participants should be in good general health. Students should appreciate that the course contains practical components where they will work with other course members.

Refresher: 

First Aid qualifications have a three year validity, this qualification must be renewed every 3 years.
