SSE WILDCATS - APPLICATIONS OPEN

Have fun, make friends, play football.
Applications are currently being welcomed for any club/organisation within the Birmingham region wishing to become an SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre for 2018.

The FA and SSE launched this initiative, which is designed to inspire girls aged between 5 and 11 to get involved in football. SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Centres provide girls with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment. 200 centres were established in 2017 and a further 800 are set to be in place for 2018.

Sessions take place on a weekly basis, either after school or at weekends, subject to each local organiser. They provide a safe environment where girls who don’t currently play the game can have fun engaging with sport, make new friends, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

Each SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre is run in conjunction with local County FAs, utilising qualified coaches and local facilities to offer girls a location nearby where they can get involved.

If you would like to get involved and become an SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre, or require more information, please contact Rafe Turner, Football Development Officer at Birmingham FA, via rafe.turner@birminghamfa.com or call 0121 357 4278 (Ext. 213) or 07870 251113.
