Birmingham County Football Association, in partnership with Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, is to host its annual awards ceremony at Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s Stadium on Monday 17 July, which will include the local winners of The FA Community Awards, supported by McDonald’s.

Birmingham County Football Association has teamed up with national law firm, Irwin Mitchell, to recognise the region’s army of grassroots football volunteers at a spectacular awards evening to be held at St Andrew’s Stadium – the home of Birmingham City Football Club – on Monday 17 July.

Without volunteers, the game at grassroots level simply wouldn’t exist. Therefore, with the support of Irwin Mitchell, Birmingham FA is dedicated to celebrating and rewarding the work and dedication of volunteers across the Birmingham region, who have helped to make local football such a success.

A total of ELEVEN awards are to be presented on the evening, which is to be hosted by BBC West Midlands’ Jenny Wilkes, with a number of special guests set to be in attendance to deliver individual awards to their respective winners.

Among that number are the eight local winners of The FA Community Awards, supported by McDonald’s, which have been awarded following a lengthy nomination window which saw members of the grassroots community put forward the names of the individuals, leagues and clubs deserving of their respective accolade.

Kevin Shoemake, Chief Executive Officer of Birmingham County FA, said: “Our annual football awards are a great opportunity for us to celebrate the fantastic army of volunteers we have across our region – and we are incredibly pleased to have Irwin Mitchell’s support in helping us recognise our clubs, leagues and individuals. These people are the unsung heroes that make the grassroots game thrive week-in week-out, and the success of the game really is testament to their hard work and dedication.

“We had a record number of nominations for the FA Community Awards this year, which shows the strength of the game and the number of deserving volunteers out there. I would like to congratulate all the nominees and winners this year, and thank everyone for their continued support.”

Barrington Atkins, Sports Lawyer at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, added: “We are very proud, excited, and honoured to be part of an awards ceremony for such deserving volunteers, who are integral in the football arena.”
