The FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football to be relaunched next month

The FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football – the highest grassroots coaching qualification – is set to been given a revamp with changes to the content and format.

Packed full of new features designed to build confidence and support learners on their coaching journeys, this new-look course, to be launched on 1 August, is equally suitable for those with aspirations of a coaching career as it is for those with a responsibility to mentor other coaches.

National coach development manager Tony McCallum said: “Learners will continue to build on what they have learnt in previous FA coaching courses with a focus on player, team and coach development.

“Specific to this course, they will explore ways of developing their players through the use of effective practice design that builds around the needs of their game.

“Following in the footsteps of The FA Level 1& 2 in Coaching Football courses, we’ve introduced new content and reorganised the format to benefit the learners and their on-going development.

“The feedback from learners on the new coach education pathway has been really impressive, they are very positive about the new courses regarding content, format, impact and the support they receive from the tutor workforce, so I’m confident we’ll see in time similar results from this new course.”

While retaining successful elements of the current UEFA B course – increased 1-2-1 contact time with tutors, the inclusion of specialist areas such as video analysis and a course that’s completely tailored to the learner and their players – it will drive development beyond that of The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football.

And, in order to make it more accessible than ever before, the planning and coordination of the course will now be done by Birmingham FA, meaning learners will be able to take advantage of more opportunities throughout the season within the Birmingham FA region.

We are pleased to confirm, 24 applicants have been accepted onto Level 3 (UEFA B) for 2017. The window to apply for Level 3 will open in 2018.
