Wolverhampton Wanderers Club Secretary Matt Wild said: “We were delighted to agree to the request from Birmingham County FA to host the final of the Birmingham Senior Cup Final here at Molineux.
“Our young players have really enjoyed making progress through the competition this season, and playing in the stadium will provide a great experience both for our team and for Leamington FC. Hopefully, a good crowd of fans from both sides will be able to come along and enjoy a well-contested final.”
John Monnes, Chairman of Birmingham FA Competitions Committee, commented: "It has been several years a final has been held at the Molineux, and we are pleased the Senior Cup Final will revisit this prestigious ground. We are looking forward to a very competitive game between Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Leamington FC after watching their thrilling cup adventure take place over this years Senior Cup competition".
The date for the Senior Cup was initially agreed as 8th of May at Banks's Stadium, home of Walsall FC, but the date had to be changed due to play off commitments of both clubs. As Walsall had no other dates available due to previous commitments, the final will take place at an alternative venue on an alternative date. We thank Walsall FC for their support in the process and rearrangement of the fixture.
