Birmingham FA launches Friday Night Futsal League

Birmingham FA are investing resources in to a Futsal pathway for Clubs.

As part of the ongoing player development for young player Birmingham FA have an extensive youth futsal pathway that is being developed over a 5 year period. They hope to be able to give everyone in their County to opportunity to play Futsal. Whether this be as mini satellite futsal HUB’s or through their Friday Night Leagues programme.

Their pathway feeds in to the current National Youth Futsal Festival pathway which brings together the best club and school teams across the age groups.

The current Friday night leagues takes place for U10, U12 & U14 both at The University of Wolverhampton Walsall Campus & The PlayFootball Arena in Birmingham. Teams can also access or set up local U10 and U12 Satellite tournaments throughout the year feeding in to the pathway with the County FA’s permission.

The top teams from the U10 & U12 Friday night leagues alongside the winners of the satellite HUBs will battle it out in a finals day for a Regional spot in late April. The winners of the Regional competition then feeds the National championships that usually take place in June.

As a league we would like to encourage your teams to sign up to play this format, as it offers a different environment where transitional skills can be developed. The leagues and satellite HUBs allow no academy players which gives Academy scouts an ideal opportunity to find to some new talent.

The pathway is accessible for any team and can be discussed with Senior Football Development Officer Luke Bowles – Luke.Bowles@BirminghamFA.com or 0121 357 4278 Ext 214, 07815003826
