SENIOR CHALLENGE CUP FIRST ROUND RESULTS

The First Round of the Senior Challenge Cup concluded last night after Rushall Olympic FC scored a 93rd minute winner against Walsall FC to secure their place in the Second Round.

Leamington FC opened the defence of their title in the competition with a 1-0 victory against Highgate United. Meanwhile, 2019 finalists Nuneaton Borough FC also progressed after beating Coventry Sphinx FC at Liberty Way.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion had to hold their nerve in penalty shootouts to reach the Second Round - against Stratford Town FC and Redditch United respectively - whilst Birmingham City FC exited the competition against Tamworth FC.

Burton Albion FC were involved in a nine-goal thriller, which saw them win 6-3 against 2018 runners up Hednesford Town, whilst fellow League One side Coventry City progressed after a 5-1 victory away from home against Rugby Town FC.

The 2018 Senior Challenge Cup winners, Stourbridge FC, were knocked out after suffering a 4-0 defeat at home to Lye Town FC.
