Watch our three-part interview with Charlie Fogarty here

Starting on Monday 18 January - known as Blue Monday due to research showing it may be the most ‘depressing’ day in the calendar - Birmingham County FA began releasing an interview between its Disability Football Development Officer, Jasbir Batt, and Charlie Fogarty; an inspirational man with a very unique story to tell.

As a teenager, Charlie aspired to be a professional footballer but his life changed in 2012 when he was hit by a car overtaking a bus, resulting in a severe brain injury which left him in a coma for four months, and then a children’s rehabilitation centre.

However, despite this life-changing moment, Charlie has bounced back from adversity in an incredible way and now tours English football clubs, schools and universities as an inspirational speaker, showing people that no matter what happens in life, #AnythingIsPossible.

In this three-part interview, Jas and Charlie discuss Blue Monday and the difficulties faced in lockdown, before going into more details about Charlie’s personal story in episode two. Meanwhile, in the third and final episode, Charlie explains more about his work as an inspirational speaker and the positive feedback he has received from his talks.
