Football plays an important role within schools, colleges and universities. From the first day at school until the last day at university.

Birmingham FA offers bespoke Education progammes to Schools, Colleges and Universities to both upskill the teaching staff and the students as well.

Junior Football Leader Award for Students

The FA Junior Football Leaders Award provides a basic introduction to leadership skills required when involved in football for those students 12+

The course will primarily introduce 4 areas:

  • Assisting football activity sessions
  • An introduction to refereeing
  • Helping with a team
  • Managing football events
  • Continuous Professional Development for TEACHERS

Birmingham FA offers teachers across all stages of education the chance to continue their coaching journey with CPD opportunities throughout the season. This will be focused on the age of students that you coach.


16+ Bespoke Courses

FA Level 1 Coaching Course

What do you need to run your own course?

  • 18 students (16+)
  • 7 x 3.5 hour sessions, Safeguarding Children (2 hours), First Aid (3 hours)
  • Classroom with screen and projector
  • Pitch (60x40 Grass, 3G, Astroturf, or Sports Hall depending on size)
  • Students must have opportunity to coach throughout the course
  • Students must have access to the internet in order to complete their online E-Learning

FA Level 2 Coaching Course

What do you need to run your own course?

  • Pre-Requisite: Students must hold FA level 1 Certificate, in date FA Safeguarding and FA First Aid
  • Be at least 16 years of age
    Classroom with screen and projector
  • ½ Pitch (Grass, 3G, Astroturf, Sports Hall depending on size)
  • Students must have opportunity to coach others throughout the course
  • Students will receive 2 in-situ visits within their club environment
  • Delivery: Block 1 (4 Days), Block 2 (3 Days), Block 3 (3 Days)
