Grassroots Football Awards 2022
Birmingham County Football Association’s Annual Grassroots Awards took place at the home of West Bromwich Albion on Monday 18 July 2022.
It was the first face-to-face awards evening for three years after the pandemic put a stop to the celebrations in 2020 and we ran a pre-recorded version in 2021.
Jenny Wilkes, former BBC WM presenter and current chair of Wolves Women and president of Wolves Official Supporters Club, compered the evening which saw 10 Awards handed out by a range of special guests to recognise the different roles in grassroots football.

Before the evening got underway, Spirit of Football, opened the evening with a short presentation on their One Ball, One World initiative, before handing over to Mike Penn, Chairman at Birmingham County FA, to say a few words on the celebratory evening.
Each guest presenter took part in a Q&A with Jenny before handing out the Awards, which led to some fantastic and engaging insight into the different roles in football. At the end of the awards evening, Kevin Shoemake, CEO at Birmingham County FA, closed the ceremony with his own personal thanks to each and every volunteer in the grassroots game.
Birmingham County FA would like to thank everyone who attended the evening, whilst congratulating the winners and runners up in each category. We would also like to thank everyone who submitted a nomination to help us achieve the most out of all the County Football Associations, with over 300 in total.
