Birmingham County Football Association agrees partnership with Sutton Coldfield-based React Physiotherapy

The Birmingham County Football Association is delighted to announce a brand-new partnership with Sutton Coldfield-based React Physiotherapy.

The partnership will provide the vast number of people involved with affiliated clubs across the West Midlands region with access to private physiotherapy, with those affiliated to Birmingham FA offered a 10% discount on initial assessments.

React Physiotherapy is a private clinic located at Minworth Trade Park in Sutton Coldfield, providing convenient access for individuals and the sporting community of Birmingham and the surrounding areas, with the park located just off the A38. Boasting an established client base, React Physiotherapy specialises in sports injury rehabilitation and athletic development.

Founded by Chris Wilson, React Physiotherapy has a strong background in working within sports. For over 10 years, Chris has worked in the elite sports physiotherapy environment, including heading up the academy sports science and medicine department at Aston Villa Football Club. With a broad appreciation and in-depth understanding of sports physiotherapy, Chris also has many years of experience managing a wide-range of everyday musculoskeletal conditions in both NHS and private environments.

Alongside React Physiotherapy, Chris is also a clinical tutor in the sports therapy department at University College Birmingham and teaches sports massage therapy at Birmingham Metropolitan College. In sport, he manages physiotherapy services for Sutton Coldfield RFC and has also worked on the 2016 PGA European Tour.

It is intended that the new partnership between Birmingham FA and React Physiotherapy will provide members of the County FA with services that may have previously been inaccessible. Through his many years’ experience, Chris has the ability to tailor bespoke physiotherapy treatment plans, with clear expectations and no hidden costs.

Chris Wilson, Clinic Director and Physiotherapist at React Physiotherapy, said: “I am delighted to be partnering with Birmingham County FA and look forward to providing its members with a flexible, accessible, and above all effective physiotherapy service.

“I pride myself on working collaboratively with my clients as this enables me to deliver the best possible outcomes when it comes to injury and post-op rehabilitation. As a former professional youth footballer, I know how frustrating it is to be side-lined due to injury and so my main aim is to restore physical mobility and function and to get individuals back to playing their chosen sport in a safe and timely manner.”

Kevin Shoemake, Chief Executive Officer of Birmingham County FA, said: “We are absolutely delighted to agree this new partnership with React Physiotherapy.

“With React, not only are we pleased to be partnering with Chris Wilson; a man firmly established within football in the West Midlands, but an organisation that provides a fantastic service to everybody within the grassroots game locally.

“Having spoken with Chris many times, his knowledge is second-to-none and I hope that those in need of his skills and knowledge within all levels of the game take advantage of the discount he is offering for initial assessments, along with his expertise.”
