One of English sport’s most renowned talent identification specialists will present at this year’s FA Talent ID conference.

Mo Bobat, England player identification lead at the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), will feature alongside a host of experts from across sport for this hugely popular event, which takes on Friday 2 December and will focus on how better relationships, both inside and outside of football, can aid talent identification and development.

His presentation - Identifying Players for the International Pathway - will provide an insight into some of the best practice principles that have been used to underpin the new player identification strategy at the ECB.

Joining him as one of the event’s key speakers will be Colchester United Chairman, Robbie Cowling. Founder of recruitment firm Job Serve, Cowling has huge international experience delivering highly competent methods of recruitment in over 30 countries worldwide.

He will speak about the challenges involved in leading a football league club as well as presenting the development pathway model he introduced at Colchester United. All three will be joined by experts from The FA, whose expertise are drawn from both the men’s and women’s game. They include Richard Allen, The FA’s Head of Talent Identification, Nick Levett, The FA’s Talent Identification Manager and Dr Catherine Hesford, the newly appointed Senior Talent Pathway Scientist, who will look at the topics developing partnerships, exploring creativity and player profiling, respectively.
