Walking Football League surpasses 700 player registrations!

The league has also done a fantastic job with Accreditation, having 53 member teams now England Football Accredited.

We're delighted to say that The Birmingham County Walking Football League has this morning surpassed 700 Player Registrations!

The League has gone from strength to strength this season and it was this past weekend where the first nationally affiliated Women’s division kicked off. The day saw seven teams compete with both Arden Forest Pink’s and Braunton setting the early bar with a 100%-win record each. Match of the day had to go to the six-goal thriller played out between Hartshill Strollers and Birmingham White’s and a special mention also to MK United, Long Eaton and Arden Forest Green.

Elsewhere in the league, the Over 50s Premier is currently being led by Coleshill Strollers with Solihull and Hartshill not far behind, meanwhile in the 50s Championship Shard End and Atherstone are tied at the top. The Over 57s Premier has three teams separated by a point whereas the Championship has a two-point gap between the top three. The 63s Premier sees Birmingham Blues top with a 100%-win record and the Championship’s early pace-setters are Solihull Moors Walkers, who have also won five from five. Rounding things off in the Over 67s, where seven teams are competing to be crowned champions.

The League has also done a fantastic job with Accreditation having 53 member teams now England Football Accredited. The youngest registered player in the Female League is 35 and the oldest player in the league is 81, giving the league an age-range of 46 years.

We are continuously proud of the Birmingham County Walking Football League as it goes from strength to strength each and every year. Birmingham County FA would like to offer thanks to the entire League Committee and its member clubs and players.
