BCFA x Goals Announce New Partnership

We are delighted to announce a new partnership between Birmingham County FA and GOALS.

Under guidance from Birmingham County FA, GOALS have committed a gift of space at their facilities for projects including; increasing participation through FA Recreational programmes, development and recruitment of referees and coaches. Goals have also affiliated all of their Adult Small-Sided Teams with Birmingham County FA which will allow both parties to enhance player experience.

Martin Cassidy, National Football Development Officer at Goals stated: “This partnership fits perfectly into Goals mission statement which is to provide equal access to premium small-sided football facilities, whilst promoting physical and mental well-being and community spirit through football.

"Although we, as a national stakeholder in football have not affiliated with the FA for some years, we feel that due to the changes in the landscape of small-side football and the demands of the modern game, now is the perfect time to work closely with other stakeholders including The FA and County FA’s to grow the game as part of the strategy for 2024-2028. We know that grass roots football for many starts in the small-sided realm, and we believe that Goals can have a huge and positive impact on the game in all its forms that will deliver positive and measurable outcomes for all.”

Luke Bowles, Football Development Manager of Birmingham County FA added: “By working closely with Martin and the Centre Managers across the four sites within our County FA Boundary we will be able to create better offers for players, coaches, and match officials. We already have plans to host FA Recreational Programmes from the sites soon. We look forward to progressing the partnership with Goals to make football more accessible.”
