Refereeing

Lisa Rashid, a local referee, who has also officiated at national level commented "I started refereeing at the age of 14. I attended a female only referee course and did it as a part time job rather than a paper round. At 16 I started refereeing adult male football and within a few years progressed into the semi-professional game. This made me see the opportunities within refereeing".

"I have now progressed to being a Football League assistant referee and a Women’s FIFA assistant referee. I love being involved in football a sport I was brought up on from a young age. Refereeing has developed my organisational, time keeping, communication and man management skills.”
