Doing the small things that make a BIG difference

The incredible stories behind the regions Grassroots football heroes

A football club is about more than just the players on the pitch.

Most volunteers already have a link with the club, be it a parent, grandparent, friend, former player or sponsor. Through committing time and effort to running the club, volunteers will play a major role in giving players the opportunity to enjoy football each week – and should feel rightly proud of the contribution they make. McDonald's is the longest-standing supporter of grassroots football in the UK.

Their work has ranged from training football coaches and running community football days, to equipping the UK's 5,000-plus FA-accredited football clubs with brand new kit each year – and they are on track to donate their 250,000th kit this year.

Anyone can be a volunteer, and the stories within the volunteering community are truly inspirational.
