Positive Education
As part of the Save Today, Play Tomorrow programme Birmingham County FA pledge to provide relevant educational resources to all participants to help them make informed choices.
Pledge of Sustainability
Clubs will be able to sign up for this from the 2021/22 season. It reaffirms your commitment to making smarter choices about how you travel to football, reducing the amount of plastic, disposing of litter responsibly and promoting recycling.
Clubs who sign up to the pledge will be challenged to share their stories and will be eligible for the new Sustainable Club of the Year Award at our annual awards night.
Climate change is a complex issue and it sometimes feels like you need to be a NASA scientist to understand it all, but we are keen to signpost you to relevant organisations that can provide education and resources.
A great staring point is to complete the Carbon Literacy Project online learning course.
A Carbon Literacy course covers:
• The science behind climate change
• Social equity and climate change
• What you can do to act on climate change
• Strategies and skills for communicating action on climate change
The course is only eight hours in duration and is a blend of online classroom and self-guided learning. There is no assessment or exam at the end.
Contact Savetodayplaytomorrow@BirminghamFA.com and include “Save Today, Play Tomorrow” as the subject title to find out how we can fund this education course for you.
