Midlands Referees Raise over £2,600 for food banks

A total of 226 individual runs were completed, averaging 7.13km per run

A group of Midlands referees have been raising money throughout the second lockdown for Food Banks in the Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry and Worcestershire Areas – and have raised over £2,600 so far!

They did this by running a total of 1612km between 16 runners.  A total of 226 individual runs were completed, averaging 7.13km per run. The quickest individual to 100km was 9 days 15 hours and the furthest distance covered in a single run was 26.52km. 

Lewis Smith, Level 5 Referee, said: “It was an amazing opportunity to raise money and awareness for a great cause, accompanied with some top lads.” 

Aaron Ford, Level 4 (Step 5-6 List) Referee, added: “It was fantastic to be part of a rewarding innovative that helped support local food bank communities in difficult times. This also helped me personally through lockdown; both physically and mentally.”
