Green Football Weekend 3-6 February

Score goals in support of the Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust

This weekend sees the start of Green Football Weekend - an exciting new campaign that will see millions of football fans and their clubs gather for a weekend of football fun and competitive activities to help protect our planet.

It is set to be the biggest moment of climate action in the footballing calendar, with more than 80 professional clubs involved, special 'greener games' being held by teams across the leagues, and Sky and BT Sport as broadcasting partners.

In support of this weekend Birmingham County FA and their award winning Save Today, Play Tomorrow programme are giving grassroots clubs the unique opportunity to support Green Football Weekend by doing what you do best…. Scoring Goals!

For every goal scored by a team playing in a competitive fixture (U12 and above) in one of the following leagues this weekend, BCFA will make a donation to the Wildlife Trust to help support vital nature restoration projects within the region

Goals will count towards the overall contribution from these leagues:

  • Beacon Sunday League

  • Birmingham & District Football League

  • Birmingham County Over 45's League

  • Birmingham County Women’s League

  • Central Birmingham Youth Development League

  • Festival League

  • Oakbourne & Coronation Football League

  • Stourbridge & District Girls Youth League

  • Stourbridge & District Youth League

  • Sutton & District Sunday Football League

  • Wolverhampton & District Sunday League

The total number of goals scored over the weekend will be taken from the FA Fulltime website, and the amount donated will be announced on Tuesday 7 February via our social channels.

If you would like to get involved further, please post the number of goals scored in your game (not the result) and a photo across whichever social platform you prefer.
