Mental Health League Returns

BCFA Mental Health League Returns

The Birmingham County FA Mental Health League returned this month with a fantastic event hosted by the Albion Foundation at Portway Lifestyle Centre. This was the third time the Baggies had hosted the event and this time round saw the debut of Sandwell African Caribbean Mental Health.

The morning was structured to include a round robin tournament where each team faced off twice. Alvechurch Foundation and Wolves Foundation both put in resilient performances to battle against the Albion and Sandwell outfits. In the end the winner was decided in the final round of games and the event saw Wolves Foundation take home the plaudits on enemy turf.

So far 177 players have participated in the Mental Health League making it the largest league of it’s kind in the country. We recently also undertook the task of achieving England Football Accreditation status for the league, something we are very proud of and could not be done without the hard work of all the clubs, players and team coaches.
