Positive year for the Birmingham Education League

We are looking to increase the numbers of teams!

This year has been a really positive year for the Birmingham FA Education League. We have 5 divisions including a University Male League, a College Wednesday and College Friday, a Female Education League, and a PAN-Disability division.

The university male league was a real success having 11 teams taking part. The unbeaten University of Warwick team was the standout team throughout the season but in the final, they missed out on silverware to University of Birmingham on penalties.

The College Wednesday league had a similar situation with Redditch United losing only 1 game throughout the season but to fall short to Invictus Education. However, Redditch United’s other development team beat Aston Villa after in the College Friday league.

The female division unfortunately didn’t get the opportunity to have a season due to numbers, however we are looking to grow this number next season to have an education league on our female pathway.

The PAN-Disability league had 4 teams taking part throughout the season and like last year, we held a end of season festival at Redditch United Football Club where 3 of the teams got the chance to play against each other for the final time in the season. Heart of Birmingham Vocational College came out on top but there were excellent displays of football from both Dudley College and QAC, who played their first fixtures. Wolverhampton College also played throughout the season, providing their students with an opportunity to play.

We are looking to increase the numbers of teams playing in these divisions. If you would like to enquire about getting a team in any of these divisions, please contact ryan.kimberley@birminghamfa.com
