Mental Health League
Birmingham County FA Mental Health League
Birmingham County FA is pleased to have launched the first Mental Health League in January 2023.
The newly set up league hosted by West Bromwich Foundation, saw over 40 players involved across the country from teams including Aston Villa, Alvechurch, West Brom and Walsall.
Our Adult Male and Disability Football Development Officer, Harley Hetherington, said: "we have eight teams involved in our Birmingham County FA Mental Health League, with each team having a turn to host an event. We hope that this inclusive and positive environment promotes disability football, and promotes positive mental health throughout the county of Birmingham."

Dan has been representing The Albion Foundation in our Mental Health League and back in May took home the trophy when they visited local rivals Wolves and won a momentous 9 team tournament. We spoke with Dan following victory:
"I want to say that I've enjoyed the Mental Health tournaments, and it's having a positive impact on my wellbeing.
I was the goalkeeper who played in the final against Wolves when we won the tournament in May. It was a well-fought battle, but we claimed victory, thanks to a thunderous strike.
Above all, it was a great experience & I can't wait to see what you guys have in store. Thank you for setting it all up. It's been a godsend!"
We are really proud that brilliant people like Dan have been able to benefit from our Mental Health League and we are really looking forward to getting it kick-started again in September!
